German Shepherd Floyd, VA

Urgent - approximately 40-50 German Shepherds were found in Floyd, VA in terrible conditions. Apparently there are two GSD puppy mills only miles apart, and Floyd county residents have been trying for years to put an end to this.

I personally spoke with the commonwealth attoney's office and the sites are currently under investigation. Unfortunately, no arrests have been made as of yet.

There are reports of puppies around 4 months old, living without shelter.

We will continue to update all of you and check out the original rescue that made the post.

So far...

We were able to connect the legal advocacy team at the Atlanta Humane Society with the Shenondoah Shepherd Rescue. Fingers crossed action can be taken asap!

What can you do?

The county NEEDS OUTSIDE PRESSURE FROM US (you too) to help push the investigation. Make calls, emails, etc.

Below is a list of resources. We'll do our part and thank you for the help!

Me and my family actually went to buy a puppy from her years ago but didn’t due to how aggressive they were and this was before they were being kept like this. It’s absolutely sickening to see something like this happening. The dogs have thank god been seized but will not be available for rehome until the case is over.

I have a rescue from Floyd, she was found as a newborn in a dumpster! She looks part GSD and red tick, no money for them.

This is beyond disgusting that these backyard breeders have been left to continue breeding in these deplorable conditions by the county! Charges need to be made and the dogs seized indefinitely!
