-------------

Dogs (and animals) have been helping out the U.S. armed forces for hundreds of years. Let us never forget their sacrifices to the U.S. and all over the world!

CPL Kory Wiens & K9 Cooper

CPL Kory Wiens and his MWD (Military Working Dog), SGT Cooper were both killed in action overseas in Muhammad Sath, Iraq in 2007. Both were stationed at Fort Leonard Wood, Missouri. They were together on a patrol when they were hit by a bomb blast.

K9 Maiko

At the end of last year, MWD K9 Maiko was killed while taking the lead on assaulting a compound in Afghanistan. He was serving in and with the 75th Ranger Regiment, 2nd Battalion. Maiko was on his 6th tour of duty, and saved several lives by giving his own that day.

I think it’s correctly spelled “Remembrance”.
